Security Notes   Security Advice n° 11-001 St. Vincent & The Grenadines Maritime Administration To : All ships Date : 28/02/11 Continent : Africa Area : Off the coast of East Africa, the coast of East Oman the Coast of Madagascar, Seychelles, the southern Red Sea and Arabian Sea Security Level : 2 - Linked Document(s) : N/A Subject : Incidents of Piracy It is highly recommended setting of security level 2 or appropriate heightened security measures for all SVG vessels when transiting off the coast of East Africa, the coast of East Oman the Coast of Madagascar, Seychelles, the southern Red Sea and Arabian Sea as follows: - vessels transiting within 1000 NM from the coast of East Africa and 750 NM from the East Coast of Oman between LAT 23° North and LAT 25° South, and in the southern part of the Red Sea below LAT 16°20\' North, and Arabian Sea, excluding the territorial waters of India. Mentioned areas are known to have continued high incidents of piracy, stowaways and/or criminal activity.
